Police in Mayuge is looking for the driver of a vehicle that claimed 3 lives in an accident this morning at the Musita-Lumino highway.

The deceased perished after a motorcycle they were riding on rammed into the sugarcane truck registration number, UAY 463B at Lugolole trading center.

The dead have been identified as Simon Peter Opio, Grace Isabirye, and another unknown victim.
The driver of the car who is said to have survived without a scratch escaped immediately abandoning the truck and victims on the road.

Eyewitnesses at the scene say both parties involved in the accident were over speeding by the time of the accident.

They claim the motorcycle was traveling from Namayingo district at a high speed while the truck was equally speeding from the opposite direction before they collided.

Bashir Siriba, the Mayuge District Police Commander, says efforts of hunting down the truck driver are underway.

Siriba agrees that accidents are on the rise along the Musita-lumino highway most motorists and drivers have resorted to over speeding due to the moderate traffic flows within the district, which has led to an increase in the number of road accidents along
