If all goes as planned, then the dusty streets of Kampala will be free from the unnecessary noise of cars with sirens.
The Traffic Directorate has on Monday banned with immediate effect all private rides with sirens and has ordered their owners of private rides to disable the sirens.
Lawrence Nuwabine, the head of traffic police made the announcement during a joint presser of police directors at the police headquarters in Naguru.
Nuwabine says the noise from the sirens is against the law and has branded Kampala city a noisy place.
He has warned that anyone found driving their ride in town with the siren nose will be arrested.
”As of now, am ordering all private vehicles, including all private security organizations to immediately disable those sirens ”he said
