Kampala metropolitan police have clarified circumstances surrounding a viral video clip in which 3 naked people in Nsangi were captured ranting unclear statements.

The video that was recorded on the 12th of Feb 2021 captured a 12year old, 21-year-old both females in the company of a male adult walking in what seemed to be a protest.

People on social media soon sold the narrative that the 3 naked persons were protesting the results of the recently concluded presidential elections.

However, Patrick Onyango, the Kampala metropolitan police mouthpiece says the 3 were performing rituals and not protesting as earlier presumed by the public.

He identifies the 3 as Nakulima Sauya, a 21-year-old,a traditional healer, and a 12-year-old juvenile who he says stormed out of the homestead of the late Nveri Yoweri, located at Muzinda cell, Katereke parish, Kyengera Town council in Nsangi Division.

He adds that this has been a tradition in the family and a similar ritual was performed by the family in 2018, Onyango says the trio appeared possessed and did not have control over themselves.

Onyango says the police task team will definitely trace for such perpetrators of cybercrime, as well as the traditional healer, for acts of public nuisance.
