Locals in Makerere Kavuule woke up to the shock of a lifeless body of a 3 -months- old baby boy thrown at a garbage site within.

The dead body that was wrapped in clothes was discovered while the Kampala Capital City Authority -KCCA garbage vehicle team was collecting rubbish at the garbage site.

Alex Mbalusha, one of the KCCA garbage collectors says the body had some bruises on the neck, showing it was strangled to death before it was thrown out.

The incident was reported to the Kavule police post and cops were called to the scene.

Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire says investigations have commenced and the hunt for the mother is ongoing, meanwhile the body has been conveyed to the city Mortuary Mulago for the postmortem.

Lubowa Sam the Local Vice-Chairman Kavule says his area has registered several of such incidents since the COVID-19 lockdown started last year.

“We condemn these acts that keep on increasing, young girls get unprepared-for pregnancies from men who are also not ready to have families and end committing murder,” Lubowa said.
