Police in Mbarara City is investigating a private security guard for gunning down a UPDF soldier.
Lance Corporal Denis Muhindo attached to the Second Division Army Barracks in Mbarara City was murdered in cold blood in the wee hours of Tuesday morning at 1 am.
The Rwizi Region Police Spokesperson Samson Kasasira says Muhindo was gunned down on his way from a local bar at Classic Wine Factory in Ruti, Mbarara South Division.
The guard whose identity is not yet known is attached to the G and D Security Companyand had been deployed to guard a place close to Birya United Agencies Ltd.
Kasasira says the suspect will be charged with murder once investigations are complete.
Meanwhile, Muhindo’s body has been taken to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital Mortuary for a post-mortem.
