Uganda National Examinations Board- UNEB has officially kick-started the  Uganda Certificate of Education -UCE  examinations on Monday for  S.4 candidates.

The candidates have started by sitting for Physics practicals and will later sit for Fine art paper.

However, despite this, the examination is yet to receive funds from a supplementary budget of 10 .465 billion shillings requested and approved by the parliamentary budgetary committee.

The Uneb Sec general Dan Odongo confirms that much as the money was approved, they are yet to receive the cash.

Odongo says the supplementary budget was meant to make easy the process of examination by catering for among other things an extra 19,910 invigilators and extra rooms to ensure a 2-meter distance between candidates as per the Ministry of Health guidelines on COVID-19.

UNEB is also expected to pay an invigilator 45,500 shillings per day.

A total of 333.000 S.4 candidates will seat for their examination.

In general, UNEB has registered a total of 1.181.940 candidates to participate in P.7, S.4, and S.6 final examinations that take place between March and May 2020.
