The health minister Dr.Jane Ruth Acheng has boldly dismissed allegations that she didn’t receive the 1st Jab of Covid19 vaccination on Wednesday.
Uganda officially entered phase 1 of the COVID -19 vaccination on Wednesday 10th March 2021 days after receiving 2 consignments of the AstraZeneca vaccines
However, a video went viral showing Acheng seemingly taking her 1st jab, but the nurse administering the Jab instead places an empty syringe on her left upper shoulder that doesn’t pierce through her skin.
Speaking to journalists at parliament on Thursday , the minister trashed the viral video content as doctored and propaganda meant to tarnish the government’s reputation.

She accused a section of bloggers of forging the video to look as if she didn’t receive the vaccination to discourage Ugandans interested in getting the vaccine.
” it is very unfortunate that such a group of bloggers should prefer to trend such old news to downwash a very important program like vaccination ,I got vaccinated yesterday and there are videos to prove that, and I did it in open camera and am extremely glad that I got vaccinated in front of the camera for the entire population to see.’Acheng noted calmly.
Acheng has asked the public to disregard all information indicating she twisted people’s minds and take the covid-19 jabs.
”vaccination is important and vaccination works and vaccination is safe, I, therefore, appeal to the general public to disregard false blogs that bloggers are promoting and to condemn it with the uttermost strength it deserves, I want to thank those who are presenting the right information about the vaccination” she noted
Health Minister Acheng Trashes Reports She Dodged Vaccination
On Wednesday after receiving the vaccine,Acheng has allayed public fears that the Astra-Zeneca COVID -19 vaccine is not safe for human consumption.
Acheng was the first in line for her first jab at Mulago Specialized Women and Neonatal Hospital. She assured told the public that the COVID -19 vaccine is safe.
“There is nothing peculiar about the jab. I have just taken it(jab) and I am not experiencing anything funny,”Aceng said
