She wondered why the government would close bars yet keep beer companies are operational and transporting their products across the country.

Elagu says the continued operation of beer companies contradicts the regulations put in place by Ministry of Health to contain the spread of COVID-19.

According to her ,continued supply of various brands of liquor motivates bar owners to illegally operate bars in disregard of the directives in place.

However, health minister Ruth Aceng disagreed with Elagu’s proposal saying says stopping businesses that bring in revenue to the national economy is not an appropriate option.
