Centenary Bank, Uganda’s leading Commercial Microfinance Bank has contributed 200 bags of cement towards the construction of Kawempe Mbogo Mosque and offered additional food items to support the Muslim fraternity in the area during the season.

While addressing the congregation at Kawempe Mbogo Mosque, Centenary Bank’s Managing Director, Fabian Kasi said that, “We stand in partnership with you by making a humble contribution towards the construction of the mosque. We know the value attached to this mosque which was built in memory of Prince Nuhu Kyabasinga Mbogo, a key leader of the Muslim faith in Uganda.”

“In the spirit of the season, today, we shall be handing over 100 bags of cement towards the construction of this great Mosque together with 1 ton of rice, 1 ton of maize flour, and half a ton of sugar towards the breaking of fast.”

This is the 8th consecutive year that Centenary Bank has extended support to the Muslim communities in various ways during the holy period, through its branches countrywide.

Centenary Bank Contributes 200 bags of Cement

This year, as part of the Cente Ramadan Special program, the bank has been able to provide food items and other basic materials to several communities where it operates, totaling UGX 100 million. The places visited include; Tororo main mosque, Kabasanda mosque in Mpigi, Mariam High School in Kisaasi, Kayunga, Bwaise, Wobulenzi, and Fort Portal.

Kasi commended the Muslim community for being a part of the bank’s success and driving it to becoming the people’s bank.

“I appreciate the contribution of the Muslim community towards the growth of Our Bank and welcome more brothers and sisters to join us and enjoy our services. We pledge to continue offering appropriate services that meet your banking needs” he said.

The Cente Ramadan Special Program is part of the bank’s initiatives aimed at supporting its Muslim customers and the public during the holy month of Ramadan.
