Police fc has never won the Uganda Cup

Police FC will aim for nothing but first leg quarter-final victory against Wakiso Giants in the Stanbic Uganda Cup at Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium in Wakiso on Thursday afternoon.

The Cops are experiencing a drought of positive results since our last 4-1 victory against Soltilo Bright Stars on the round of 16 at the MTN Omondi stadium. It’s been a six game winless run since then in all competitions.

We visit Wakiso Giants at a back of another disappointing 1-0 defeat to Mbarara City at Kakyeka stadium last Saturday. All hopes are on bouncing back to winning ways and the coach Abdallah Mubiru is positive for the best.

“We’ve been able to go through our preparations successfully, we are only targeting to make sure each and every player in our team comes out the dressing room when at his best to deliver us good results. We looking towards registering good results against Wakiso Giants so that work gets easy for us to negotiate the return leg.”

Four players including captain Tony Mawejje, Hassan Mahmood, Derrick Kakooza and Henry Katongole are back to full fitness.

Henry Kisekka is back from injury but will need to gain his full fitness and the game comes so early for the striker.

Timothy Oyamo and Samuel Kayongo are still nursing injuries and won’t be available for a selection while the remaining squad is available for selection.

The last time meeting with Wakiso Giants ended 3-1 at the same stadium. Herman Wasswa came from the bench to cut on our deficit in the Uganda Premier League.
