It is a somber mood in Bulabira, Najjera as Gen Katumba Wamala arrived home after being discharged from Medipal hospital where he underwent sugery.
Gen Katumba who narrowly survived death on Tuesday was allowed by his doctors to return home for his daugther’s burial.

The former chief of Defence Forces arrived home to a big crowd of mourners who had already started prayers for the late Brenda Nantongo Wamala.

Looking stronger, physically and emotionally , Katumba clad in a blue shirt with one arm supported and the other Bandedged rushed to his grieving wife Catherine Wamala and hugged her for moments before proceeding to the coffin housing Nantongo’s lifeless body.

Accompanied by his wife ,they both laid a wreath on the coffin of the deceased.
A mass is currently ongoing at his residence in Najjera before the body is taken to Mukono for burrial Tommorrow June the 3rd,2021.

Several high profile persons in the government and army have attended the mass ,they include;Cheif of Defence forces David Muhoozi,former ministers ,legislators among others.
Katumba suffered 2 bullet wounds on both his arms and has so far removed one ,however he remains to undergo a second surgery to exit the second bullet .

Katumba released a communique this morning saying the 1st surgery was successful but the 2nd was still in his arms because it shattered one of his main veins.
Dr.Martin Abooki the head of Public relations at Medipal international hospital in Kololo has affirmed that Gen Katumba is in good health,the reason he was discharged to mourn his daughter.

Nantongo Brenda the deceased was killed on spot alongside the driver Haruna Kayondo by unknown assailants in a shoot out on Tuesday morning while traveling with her father for the maternal grandmother’s vigil in Najjanankumbi.
She will be laid to rest on Thursday at the General’s ancestral home in Kikandwa village ,Kasawo subcounty in Mukono district.
The family members say that only 200 people will be allowed to attend the burial because of covid 19.
