The late Brenda Nantongo Wamala will be laid to rest tomorrow the 3rd June 2021 at Kikandwa village ,Kasawo sub county in Mukono district.
Nantogo 27, was a daughter to General Katumba Wamala who was shot dead along side a driver identified as Haruna Kayondo on Tuesday at Kisota road Kisasi.

Unidentified Gunmen trailed and attacked Gen Katumba, in his ride Reg number H4DF 2138 along Kisaasi-Kisota road, and fired several bullets that claimed lives.
While the 2 died on spot,Gen Katumba survived narrowly with 4 gunshot wounds on both his arms.

The family members say Nantongo and her father were travelling to Najjanankumbi for her maternal grand mother’s burial who died on Monday after a long illness.
However, their journey was unsuccessful, and instead, the body of the deceased Nantongo was taken home to Bulabira, Najjera yesterday where a vigil was held.

According to Christopher Katumba Kiggundu, the eldest brother, Nantongo will be laid to rest in Mukono before they can proceed to bury their maternal Grandmother in Masaka.
Kigundu told journalists that the family will first hold prayers at their home in Najjera today at 4pm before they proceed to the burial place.

Kigundu has however asked the public to avoid flooding at their residence in large numbers because of the COVID 19 regulations in place.
”we know everyone would want to say goodbye and support our father ,we know that many people want to come here, but we are asking that the numbers be limited because of the covid-19,we are also asking those who will come here not to go to Kikandwa for burrial.”he noted
Kiguundu says only 200 persons will be allowed to escort and burry Nantongo in Mukono.

Meanwhile, the Army has already deployed heavily at Katumba’s ancestral home at Kikandwa Village, with no mourners allowed access to the home.
Nantogo was a 4th child of the Gen Katumba. She studied at Green Hill Academy before she went to secondary school at Nabisunsa Girls School.
She later studied both her undergraduate and Master’s Degree in Public Health at Savannah Atlanta University in the United States of America-USA. Last year she returned to Uganda and got a job at a US-based NGO.
Her family has described her as a jolly ,hardworking who often kept to herself.
