PM Nabbanja Promises Prompt Relief Cash

The Prime minister of Uganda Hon Robinah Nabbanja has assured the public that By Wednesday or Thursday, this week, the vulnerable groups will be receiving their cash relief packages.

The government recently promised a relief package of 100.000 shillings to vulnerable persons.

The government recently listed 16 categories of beneficiaries, including bus and Taxi drivers, traffic guides, touts, car washers, wheelbarrow pushers, food vendors, Boda Boda riders, musicians, DJs, bouncers, teachers, orphans, shoe shinners, slum dwellers, and street vendors.

The distribution exercise commences on July 6.

Nabbanja who was speaking at the Anglican church service on Sunday assured the public that mobile money messages will start coming through by this week.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister has donated shs50 million to the Anglican Church to help in paying off the shs60 billion loan used to construct Church House.

Nabbanja delivered the money during a scientific service at Archbishop Dr Stephen Kaziimba’s home in Namirembe on Sunday.

Last month, the church launched a campaign to raise Shs60 billion shillings to clear a huge loan from Equity Bank for the construction of the 16 storeys commercial building.

“During State House prayers recently, I pledged my first salary to go towards Church House. I am here to deliver on my promise of contribution to the Church House project. Here is shs50 million,” Nabbanja said.

Nabbanja also applauded President Museveni for believing in her and appointed her in such a powerful position in government.
