Kampala police are investigating for a private security guard accused of shooting dead his colleague and attempting to run away.
Jimmy Ocan attached to Swat Security Group limited reportedly fired live bullets at Zakaria Lokong his workmate from the same security firm before escaping with 2 guns.
Ocan was however intercepted and has been arrested at Jinja Road Police Station in Kampala.
Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson says the motive of the killing has not yet been established by the police although investigations have commenced.
He says that Ocan opened fire around 6:20 pm on Wednesday evening at KCB Bank Industrial Area on 6th Street in Kampala killing Lokong and fled the scene with two firearms.
He, however, says that Officer in Charge the police post in Industrial Area responded quickly to the gunshots, and managed to grab ocan and arrest him before he could get away.
The deceased’s body is currently at the city mortuary in Mulago pending postmortem.
Last month, another security guard shot and injured his colleague in Wandegeya following a misunderstanding over a woman.
