Katumba 2nd Shooter Charged
Huzaifa Wampa, aka Kanaabe,34, the Boda Boda rider implicated in the Gen Katumba Wamala shooting has joined his colleagues on remand at Kitalya government prison.
Wampa a former member of Boda Boda 2010 was arrested on Tuesday and described as the second shooter clad in a striped T-shirt on one of the Bodadas that attacked the works and transport minister Gen Katumba Wamala.
4 gunmen riding on two motorcycles attacked the vehicle of Gen Katumba in Kisaasi, a Kampala suburb, killing his daughter Brenda Nantongo, driver Haruna Kayondo and injuring him on both arms.

Police says Wampa who is attached to the Allied Democratic Force-ADF confessed to committing several high-profile murders and robberies in the city.
Wampa becomes the 8th suspect to be arraigned before the Nakawa chief magistrate’s court on charges of murder, attempted murder, and terrorism.
Others on remanded since last week include ; Sserubula Hussein Ismael, Nyanzi Yusuf Siraje, Muhammad Kagugube alias Bafumoya, Kamada Walusimbi, alias Mudinka, Sirimani Kisambira Ayub, Abdulaziz Ramathan Dungu and Habid Ramathan Marjan.

He appeared before the presiding chief magistrate Dr. Douglas Ssingiza who remanded him till the 3rd of August 2021 when his case comes up for mention.

He wasn’t given chance to plead to the charges like the others because his case is capital in nature and can only be tried by the high court.

The prosecution alleges that Wampa, together with seven people and others still at large between the months of March 2015 and June 2021 in various places in Uganda with intent to intimidate the public or section of the public for political, religious, social, or economic aims indiscriminately without due regard to the safety of others or property, directly involved themselves in the murder and attempted murder of Police, UPDF personnel and civilians and attacks on some police establishments.
