Mityana Municipality Member of Parliament Francis Zaake narrowly escaped death or being hospitalized in intensive care after a gang of thugs attacked him over the weekend.
However, his bodyguard identified as Ashiraf Sseremba didn’t escape the claws of his attackers who beat him to a pulp, leaving him in a coma.
Sseremba is currently hospitalised at the intensive unit in Rubaga Hospital in critical condition.
It all started when Zaake who was in the company of his bodyguard and others were travelling back home from a family tribute /Dua to one a Shakira Nabagesera an ardent supporter of the National Unity Platform-NUPwho died a month ago at Naguru Hospital.
Eyewitnesses claim Zaake was ambushed by over 30 goons with clubs and covered in hoods who pounced on them.
In the process of the attack, Zaake was strong enough to manoeuvre a way out while his bodyguard took all the cains on his behalf.
The guard remains in a critical state at Rubaga where Zaake was able to check on this morning.
