The students had held a peaceful demonstration to the MOE with placards and a petition declaring their demands.
The group was later released on police bond after being charged with inciting violence.

Among those released include; Noella Awal, Ismail Katongole, and Francine Ayebazibwe all ministers in the guild.
In their July 26, 2021 petition, the student leaders are demanding ;
Reversal of functional fees, which is part of tuition, because of the pandemic.
Reversal of the 12% internet tax, to facilitate ease and accessibility to learning.
Halting 15% cumulative tuition increment policy in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and economic constraints.
A comprehensive plan on the full reopening of the University for physical learning to continue, including a clear plan for mass vaccination of students.
