After a flamboyant appearance at Parliament on Thursday afternoon, Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Oulanyah has tagged a section of legislators hypocrites for demanding to know his whereabouts.

Oulanyah made a dominant entry to the August house clad in a navy blue suit, looking poised and ready to resume work.

The last time Speaker Oulanyah was spotted in the public eye is in June during the 2021/2022 budget reading.

The Omoro county Mp has since been MIA attracting attention from both the public and his fellow legislators.

While at Parliament Oulanyah made an intentional entrance to an induction workshop for opposition MP’s where he made his first remarks.

Oulanyah blasted“Some of you had made it a habit to demand my presence, yet for one and half years when I never chaired or even appeared in Parliament you didn’t raise it, now I am away for a week and they are like… Acholis are going to demonstrate. Let’s stick to standard principles. Let us have one standard with which we shall be judged.”

He suggested many had a death wish for him, “We are losing humanity in this country. If somebody is sick, why declare them dead? I hope the usual thing would be to pray for that person. If it’s true indeed somebody is ill like we know many are ill, why should we be painting and furnishing coffins for them.”

He says “Evil is taking over Uganda and we must resist it. Let’s return to humanity because we are one people.”

Several news outlets have in the recent past reported Oulanyah as being critically sick and hospitalized at hospitals abroad.

However, early this week, Oulanyah stated he was alive and well and would soon appear in Parliament.
