Panic amongst the locals in the greater Masaka region continues to intensify despite heavy security presence.
Top army commanders, Internal Affairs Minister Gen David Muhoozi, Special Forces Command SFC’s, ISO, and other security organs have beefed up deployment at various strategic points but the situation still feels far from over.
On Monday morning locals woke up to another episode of fear after they came across letters of more threats to claim lives.
In some of the letters seen by the Galaxy website, since they spread on social media the machete thugs are out for more blood and money.
The goons have notified locals of their forthcoming areas of attack and how they intend to slaughter 20 more heads.
Fred Bamwine, Resident District Commissioner-RDC explains further:“ Yesterday night, they dropped letters (Ebibaluwa), and these letters stated that; If you are willing to give us relief package send the money to the number below. When we checked these numbers, they belong to area leaders,”
Bamwine says the nail bitting letters have since prompted more security action; “We have put patrols in place and gave ourselves a target that we shall always be at the crime scene in less than 10 minutes after any crime incident has happened,”
