Makindye West MP Allan Ssewanyana has reportedly been brought to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) to record a statement.

The embattled Mp has been missing and his whereabouts unknown for close to 5 days since he was ambushed by security personnel at the Kigo Government prison shortly after his bail was granted.

According to his legal counsel Erias Lukwago, they have received information this afternoon that the troubled legislator is appearing to record a statement.

Lukwago explains that everything remains sketchy now in terms of why he is still in detention and what charges have been leveled against him.

‘Lukwago:‘We have just received information from a good samaritan that Hon Ssewanyana is at the SIU in Kireka and being directed to record a statement, So I have to rush there to see what is going to happen there, the charges being preferred against him because they already have enough charges.”

Ssewanyana was on Thursday last week granted a cash bail of 40 million shillings after presenting 3 sureties who were each bonded 100 million shillings.

In a video footage showing his release, Ssewanyana, clad in a grey suit is spotted stepping out of Kigo Prison alone at about 07:30 pm.

He comfortably moves a few metres from the prison gate, which is guarded by prison officers, to meet his family just 100 metres away.

However, a speeding silver drone approaches and parks close to him, eight armed men clad in black uniform with caps storm out, grab him and bundle him into the vehicle before speeding off to an unknown destination.
