Irate mob
An irate mob in Namasagali, Kamuli district has killed a police cop and left another badly for rescuing two witchdoctors.
It all started on Sunday, September 26, when police at Kadungu B village in Kisakye parish, Namasagali sub-county received a distress call from two locals under threat by a mob led by one Buyinza Buyama.
The locals identified as Namuyindo Alex and Oduju Joseph both witchdoctors had reportedly been surrounded by an angry mob armed with clubs, pangas, and stones ready to lynch them.
The area locals accused the Witchdoctors of causing the death of two people using their witchcraft.
According to police Spokesperson CP Fred Enanga, Police immediately dispatched a team of police cops who rushed to their rescue and transferred them to the Namasagali Police Station.
Enanga says the irate mob followed the witch doctors to the police station where they launched an attack. The violent mob raided the station with the intent of lynching them.

In the process of attack, a police cop identified as D/C Kasolo was injured and died on his way to the hospital. Meanwhile, one of the rescued victims, Namuyindo succumbed to bullet wounds.
Enanga says another security personnel was injured: “A crime preventer identified as Bagadira David, who was riding a motorcycle during the rescue mission, was also attacked, injured and in critical condition, but admitted at Kamuli Mission Hospital.”
Enanga says“This incident is a stark reminder of the dangers police officers face, in their efforts to protect the public and keep citizens safe. We do honor, D/C Kasole Francis, for his ultimate sacrifice while serving the community, in Namasagali, Kamuli and the country at large”
So far, 11 suspects have been arrested. These include; Muzaale Isima, Walujo Karim, Mpule Robert, Wanjala Yoweri, Oliga Yoweri, Magala Silvester, Wabwire Zabwe, Mvabagwa Yonah Dooba, Ekijati John, Mugatu Ewaku and Abiora Alex.
