Police in Wakiso district has netted a 67-year-old father for torturing and defiling his teenage children.
Ibrahim Abdul Shakur Twebaze, is accused of defiling and impregnating his 15year old daughter and torturing her brother.
Shakur was arrested by Mende Police officers after a tipoff from locals where he resides at Bujuuko, Ntinda Village in Mende Sub County.
Asp Luke Owoyesigyire Deputy spokesperson KMP says that local leadership in the area received information that Twebaze had continuously locked his two children in the house without letting them go out for quite a long time.
The two children were found in an appalling state looking extremely malnourished with pale skin and torn clothing as living in a sorry condition.
Owoyesigyire says ”The girl was found locked inside the main house while the boy victim was found inside the store living in filthy conditions . It is alleged that the boy was given his food ration through an opening in the door of a tiny room, in which he was confined.”
He says detectives interviewed the girl, who told them that she had been defiled by her father for quite a long time and she was pregnant with his child.
She also said that in 2020, her father married her off to his friend only identified as Sheikh Muhammad.She said Sheikh Muhammad was so violent and abusive that she escaped from his home.She returned back to her father’s home while pregnant.
Owoyesigyire further states: ‘‘She said her father took her to a clinic in Mulago where she aborted. After the abortion, the father also started abusing her sexually and she is currently two months pregnant.”
The police have arrested the father of the two children on allegations of defilement, child torture and aiding abortion.
Owoyesigyire also says the hunt of alleged Sheik Muhammad is on , he will be arrested on allegations of defilement.
He says Medical examinations have been carried out on the children and results will be attached on the case file and which will be forwarded to the Resident State Attorney for legal advice today Wednesday.
