Man hangs self in police
A 35-year-old father-of-three identified as Joram Rwakahinga, has committed suicide in a local police cell where he was arrested for sexually abusing his two biological daughters and infecting them with HIV.
Shameless Rwakahinga, a resident of Kikuuta village in Bukango sub-county, Bukomansimbi district, hanged himself inside the cells of Kikuuta Police Station on Tuesday night. The deceased took advantage of the solitude in the police cell to hang himself using a string he pulled from his trousers.
Rwakahinga was first detained on October 10 for threatening to kill his mother over a land dispute but further information later revealed that he had also defiled his two girls aged 12 and 16.

The girls eventually confessed to their aunt that their father had defiled them severally while they lived with him.
Muhammad Nsubuga, the Greater Masaka Regional Police Spokesperson says prior to his death, Rwakahinga had been subjected to a medical examination, which established that he was HIV positive and that he had also infected the daughters.
“After his arrest, the two children confided in their auntie that their father has been molesting them, so a case of aggravated defilement was opened against him and on subjecting him to medical examination, he was infected with HIV and had infected his biological daughters. So I think out of that anxiety, he committed suicide,” Nsubuga explained.
