Police boss defiles 14-year-old

Officers at Amolatar Police station are investigating their boss and senior over allegations of defilement of a minor.

The Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Maxman Okello Ochan, was allegedly caught red handed defiling a 14-year-old girl in Amirimiri Ward. Irate locals reported the matter to police but apparently did not receive any justice.

Angry at the inaction of the police, four locals stormed the office of the new Amolatar Resident District Commissioner, George William Wopuwa, and demanded that the errant ASP Okello Ochan be arrested because they had witnessed the defilement taking place. RDC Wopuwa then ordered for his arrest.

The Amolatar Divisional Police Commander (DPC), Jacob Chepsikor, says he received a directive from the RDC to investigate the OC over the alleged defilement.

”I acted on the information immediately, we have detained him, the victim and him (ASP Okello)have been examined medically, so we are really trying our level best. So if they investigate and find that he did, the law will take it’s on course because we as police stand for the right thing, we don’t encourage people to behave that way,” Chepsikor said

The victim was apparently tricked into meeting the officer by a boda boda man whom she knew. According to her, the boda rider took her and her older sister to a house in which the officer was already waiting with a condom in his hands. She says her sister was chased away before she could enter the house.

Angry residents under the leadership of Moses Okot Junior, the Kyoga South MP, stormed the police station demanding proof of arrest of the suspect.

”We want justice, what we want to know is the accused person in custody? we want to be very sure whether the accused person is undertaking the due process, bring the detention order we confirm ,” Okot demanded evidence from the RDC
