Parliament will not resume operations as expected today following twin explosions that rocked Kampala City center on Tuesday morning .One of the explosions took place at the IPS building opposite Kampala Capital City Authority-KCCA along parliamentary avenue.

IPS building is found along Parliament Avenue, about 200 meters away from the main gate of the parliament. 

In an official communication to members of parliament by the Clerk Adolf Mwesige Kasaija , he states that the Deputy speaker Hon Anita Among directed that plenary be postponed to create room for investigations.

“You are advised not to proceed to the precincts of Parliament as security forces are working hard to restore order around parliament. Until you are advised otherwise, please keep at home and those in the precincts of parliament keep calm and wait for advice on how to exist,” further reads the notice from Clerk to parliament.”

Mulago National referral hospital has confirmed admitting 27 persons at the causality wing following the Tuesday morning blasts in Kampala. 21 police officers are reporter admitted in the casualty ward.

According to Dr Rosemary Byanyima the deputy executive director at the hospital 27 admitted ,seven are women while twenty are men. The doctors say seven patients are critically injured and in need of resuscitation.

At about 10:13 am two separate blasts happened at Central Police Station-CPS and Kooki Towers along Buganda Road and at IPS building along  Parliament avenue in the Kampala Central Business District.
