Pieces of broken glass, scattered flesh and heavy deployment by the Police are what characterize the Kampala Central District after two explosions went off this morning at 10:13 am.

The explosions happened outside Kooki Towers, opposite the Central Police Station, and the other was reported at Jubilee Insurance Building on Parliament Avenue.

Two patrol Police trucks and several private vehicles and motorcycles are seen with shattered windows and mirrors as well as deformed car bodies, which took the impact of the blasts.

It has been reported that close to 10 people have died and several others sustained serious injuries in both blasts.
Eyewitnesses say the police and UPDF bomb squads have cordoned off the crime scenes and the Red Cross has joined in evacuation efforts.Police have cordoned off the parliamentary avenue from the main gate of parliament and the Ministry of Justice.

Survivors and the injured have been rushed to Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) building for shelter. The affected areas have been cleared of any bystanders as security operations have ordered people to shut their businesses and evacuate the area, to give room for investigations.
