Consequently, security at the gates of Parliament has been beefed up. Apparently, no one, including legislators, is allowed inside the precincts without identification.

Security is currently screening vehicles, bags, and luggage all the way from Uganda Railways grounds stretching from National theater to Ministry of Justice , Cafe Javas Parliamentary Avenue up to City Hall.

All staff of Parliament including MPs and Journalists must to wear their identity cards before gaining access to the legislative premises. Non staff and visitors have been denied access to the building.

Inside Parliament, there is no indication of the resumption of plenary and committee sittings as the situation still remains tense with only a handful of workers seen around the precincts of the house.
