Police in Kabalagala ,Kampala have locked up four Somali nationals living in Uganda for being in possession of an explosive detonation device at Speke Resort Munyonyo Hotel.

The suspected detonator was discovered by security guards at Speke Resort Munyonyo in a White Toyota Wish UBF158C during an inspection exercise at the hotel’s gate.
Fred Enanga the Uganda Police spokesperson says the Toyota wish was being driven by Karim who claims to have been hired by Hassan to pick his relatives from the hotel .
“The device that they were found with is one that can explode a given explosive device it was found upon a thorough search of the vehicle ,we have the duty to trace backwards for the main component of the suspected destructive device because during this period of terror attacks any related device tells alot about the person in possession”he said .

This incident comes just days after seven people including three suicide bombers were killed and 37 others injured after two bomb blasts in Kampala .
Enanga said the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), an affiliate of the Islamic State in central Africa, was responsible for both attacks .
“It clearly shows that the ADF linked radicalized groups, still have a desire to carry out lethal attacks, on soft targets, with suicide attackers and improvised explosive devices (IED),” Enanga said.
“These kinds of threats remain significant because IEDs and suicide bomb jackets can easily be built from common household items found in local markets, retail shops, and supermarkets,” he added.
The latest attacks come about two weeks after two separate blasts ,blamed on ADF ,claimed two people and injured several others in Komamboga,Kawempe division and on a Swift Company Bus in Mpigi.
