Match day seven of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League sees the league and CECAFA Kagame Cup champions Express FC host Wakiso Giants on Friday afternoon at the Betway Muteesa II stadium Wankulukuku.

Wasswa Bbosa’s charges are searching for their first home win of the season and third overall. The Red Eagles are keen on earning maximum points to shorten the four-point gap between both sides.

“Following our goalless draw against S.C Villa, we have since been working on our finishing so that we’re able to score more. As you know, if you don’t score goals you can’t win games and what we want is to score. We know Wakiso Giants are in fine form but the boys are aware and pumped up to earn our first league win at home this season.” Express Fc coach Wasswa Bbosa.

This will be the third league meeting between both sides and the Red Eagles have won both encounters. The Purple Sharks have picked up 12 points in as many league games.

Express FC comfortably won the home clash 3-0 against the Purple Sharks last season. Winger Godfrey Lwesibawa and captain Walusimbi Enock are available for selection.

“We face the defending champions and respect them for that. But we are confident and in high spirits to take them on and there is not right timing than this.” Wakiso Giants coach Alex Gitta.

Left back Arthur Kiggundu serves his last of the two game suspension whereas center back Issa Lumu is suspended after accumulating three yellow cards.

Wakiso Giants will be without defender Edward Satulo who is suspended due to yellow cards’ accumulation. Captain Hassan Ssenyonjo is still out through injury. Fahad Kawooya who missed the last game through injury has returned and expected to feature. Ibrahim Kasule who got injured last week against Tooro United has also been passed fit for the contest.
