A renowned witch doctor from Luuka district, has been lynched by irate locals in after he was found digging up a grave to exhume remains for ritual purposes.
Hassan Bakaki, 55, and his two colleagues approached the grave of a deceased identified as Domu Tidamulala, on Wednesday afternoon and started ploughing in.The act attracted the attention of locals in Kasozi village in Busedde sub-county,Jinja district who ganged up against Bakaki and started flogging him.
In the process, his two colleagues managed to escape the scene while their colleague was beaten to a pulp and left for the dead.
Locals in Busedde sub-county say Bakaki is a renowned witch doctor from Luuka district, who was practicing rituals in the neighboring areas, but they were surprised to see him exhuming the dead.
Kiira Region police spokesperson, James Mubi says that they took the deceased’s body to Busedde health center IV mortuary.
