Police is hunting for unidentified assailants accused of shooting dead two police officers attached to Nakasozi Police Post in Kiboga District.
The policemen including Corporal Francis Nsubuga, the Officer in Charge of Nakasozi Police Post and Special Police Constable- SPC Paul Dimba, were shot and killed at Nakasozi Police Post in Kiboga District by armed men dressed in civilian clothes on Thursday evening.
Rachel Kawala the Wamala Region Police spokesperson says four armed men in plain clothes stormed the Police post in the night and opened fire on the officers,killing them on spot.
“The facts indicate that the officers were attacked while seated at the police post, by a gang of four armed men who were dressed in civilian clothes,” Kawala said
She adds that this is the second time that armed men in civilian attire are attacking the same police post. She says a similar incident happened nine days ago.
Kawala says the death of these two officers brings to six, the number of officers who have been shot dead in the Wamala Region in a period of two months. She adds that Police has already dispatched a team of flying squad unit personnel to investigate and hunt down the thugs .
