Police in Kampala is investigating circumstances under which one Peter Apangu was on Thursday mysteriously found dead in a taxi UAU 859 L that was traveling to Kampala City.
Apangu who reportedly boarded the Taxi from Katooke, Bwaise but failed to reach his destination as he was discovered dead at Nakivubo Mews by the Taxi conductor.

Asp Luke Owoyesigyire Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Mouthpiece says reports from the homicide team that visited the scene reveal that the deceased had a swelling on the eye, an indication that he had been beaten or hit.
Owoyesigyire says the taxi operators discovered he was dead at Nakivubo when they tried to awake him to pay his fares in vain.

Owoyesigyire adds that they have in custody the driver of the motor vehicle at the Central Police Station in Kampala to help with investigations into the incident.
Our homicide team has visited the scene and we have also arrested the driver of the motor vehicle, John Semwogerere and Bruno Mawejje to help aid in the ongoing investigations.
He adds that the lifeless body of the deceased was conveyedy to City Mortuary Mulago for a post mortem as investigations continue.
