Speeding ambulance knocks Boda Boda rider

A speeding ambulance along Ggaba road in Kansanga on Tuesday afternoon rammed into a Boda Boda carrying two passengers, injuring them badly.

The Boda Boda rider identified as Job who operates at rest corner Boda Boda stage in Muyenga sustained a broken skull while the two Eritrean nationals got minor injuries on the head as well.

The trio were lifted by good Samaritans to a nearby Rock clinic in Kansanga, where they received first aid treatment, before being taken to Mulago National Referral Hospital.

Eyewitnesses at the scene say the Ambulance that was reportedly travelling from Munyonyo was transferring other patients to Nsambya hospital when it tried to overtake another car on the road. They claim the Boda Boda rider who was moving on the opposite side of the road was hit instantly in the process.

The ambulance was reportedly stopped to carry the victims to hospital but unfortunately, it had no space in it since it was carrying three accident victims with raised legs inside.

“The Boda Boda man failed to dodge the ambulance because he was stuck in between a canter parked to one side and the ambulance that was speeding to overtake another car, So they got knocked and his skull opened,while the others got cuts on their faces, We stopped the ambulance to take them to hospital but it had patients,” Kibirige Charles narrated

By the time of filing this story police had not arrived at the scene yet.
