Liverpool expected to heap
Leicester City will be looking to bounce back from a humiliating FA Cup defeat to Nottingham Forest when they face Liverpool at Anfield.
A poor run of results has seen Leicester slip to tenth in the Premier League table 22 points behind second-place Liverpool.
Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp’s side find themselves nine points behind Manchester City and a point ahead of Chelsea. They also have two games in hand over the Blues.
In the Premier League, the Reds have lost just two of their 22 games this season – picking up 14 wins and six draws along the way.
Thanks to a strong end to the previous campaign, Liverpool are enjoying a remarkable run of just two defeats in 44 games across all competitions.
As for Leicester, they were crushed 4-1 by second-tier side Nottingham Forest on Sunday. It wouldn’t be unfair to say that they were completely outclassed by their East Midlands rivals.
Following their embarrassing defeat at the City Ground, the Foxes have now managed to win just one of their last nine away games in all competitions.
Brendan Rodgers’ team have also won only one of their previous four Premier League games and head into Thursday’s clash on a three-game winless streak.
To make matters worse, they have conceded 37 goals in 20 league games this season – meaning only five teams have a poorer defensive record.
Head-to-head: Leicester beat Liverpool 1-0 in the reverse fixture back in December, but a lot has changed since then.
The Foxes have managed to win just two of their last ten meetings with the Reds in all competitions, suffering seven losses along the way.
Liverpool expected to heap
Team news: It remains to be seen whether Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane will be fit enough to face Leicester, having played in the AFCON final on Sunday.
Leicester have multiple injury absentees at the moment, including Jonny Evans, Timothy Castagne, Jamie Vardy, Wesley Fofana and Ryan Bertrand.
