In a bid to streamline the transport system in Kampala, taxis have been banned from parking in stages that are not gazetted.
Hudu Hussein, the Kampala Resident City Commissioner -RCC says that those vehicles found in these illegal stages will be impounded and the operators arrested in an operation that is soon to be conducted.
Taxi stages shall only operate in the visible gazatted stages. All taxis are required to park in gazatted stages. Shall not entertain a city where stages are at will.
Vehicles heading to a particular destinated shall be. Taxis found parked in the streets shall be impounded and operators arrested.
The issue of bodabodas is still under review. Registration of all bodaboda riders has already commenced at division level. They shall be give reflector jackets with well spelled names. No bodaboda riders will be allowed to operate in Kampala without a reflector jacked approved by the Ministry of Works and Transport. Those reflector jackets without codes are banned.
Bodaboda riders should not but the reflector jackets from people until Ministry of Transport issues them out after registration.
Bodaboda riders shall be trained and those who will qualify will be licenced and then given reflector coded jackets.
Bodaboda rider should only belong to one stage and they will only be allowed to stop at the next zone not beyond.
