KCCA Express share

KCCA FC and Express FC shared spoils in the Kampala derby played at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku. Julius Poloto’s 44th minute penalty canceled out Express’ Martin Kizza’s early goal from a freekick in the 18th minute.

Express’ Kizza was cautioned for a dangerous foul on Sadat Anaku in the 35th minute. Poloto could have leveled the score in the 37th minute but his attempt flew inches off the upright.

Poloto later won a penalty for KCCA FC after Express’ skipper Enock Walusimbi fouled him in the box. Walusimbi was cautioned and Poloto slotted his kick past custodian Otim.

After recess, Erisa Ssekisambu and Fillbert Obenchan replaced Arafati Usama and Rogers Mato.

Anaku doubled KCCA’s lead with a first time strike off a beautiful cross from Innocent Wafula in the 57th minute.

Brian Aheebwa replaced injured skipper Gift Ali in the 66th minute. Julius Poloto was then handed the armband. Express leveled matters through substitute Akandwanaho in the 74th minute.

Morley Byekwaso’s charges then took charge but not until the 75th minute when James Odoch rang the changes bringing on holding midfielder Enock Ssebagala for Yaya Mahad Kakooza and Joseph Akandwanaho for Martin Kizza. Akandwanaho’s impact was immediate as he followed through Enock Walusimbi’s long cross from the right to slot home on his first touch and level matters in the 75th minute.
