Can Chelsea seal fifth

Chelsea will be looking to secure their fifth consecutive Premier League victory when Newcastle United visit Stamford Bridge. That said, the Magpies who now find themselves ten points clear of the relegation zone – have the chance to notch four straight wins this weekend.

Chelsea head into this encounter clash on the back of a dominant 3-1 victory over Norwich, with Mason Mount grabbing a goal and an assist.

That means the Blues have won each of their previous four Premier League games while conceding just a single goal along the way. When you look at the bigger picture, Tuchel’s side have lost just one of their past 12 league outings picking up six wins and five draws in the process.

Not only have Chelsea avoided defeat in each of their last 18 home games in all competitions, but they have also lost just four of their previous 30 home matches in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Newcastle came from behind to seal a 2-1 victory against Southampton at St. Mary’s on Thursday night. The Magpies have now won each of their last three Premier League games, having dispatched Brentford and Brighton prior to Thursday’s win.

It is worth noting that Newcastle head into today’s game clash on a nine-match unbeaten streak in the Premier League and have won six of their previous seven encounters.

The Magpies looked destined for relegation before Eddie Howe took over, but the former Bournemouth boss has completely turned things around.

Chelsea have won each of their previous three Premier League meetings with Newcastle, scoring a combined total of seven goals while keeping three clean sheets.

The Blues have also won six of their last seven league games against the Magpies, limiting Newcastle to just three goals during that period.

Ben Chilwell and Callum Hudson-Odoi are both currently unavailable for Chelsea. Reece James is also a major doubt, for Newcastle, Isaac Hayden, Kieran Tripper, Callum Wilson and Jamal Lewis will all miss the trop to the capital due to injury.
