Muslim faithfuls across the world will start the holy month of fasting and prayer on April 2, 2022 .This follows sighting of the crescent in Sudair, Saudi Arabia.
The one month of fasting starts when a thin crescent moon is sighted in the sky after sunset within a day or so after the new moon. It is the third pillar of the Islamic faith.
Meanwhile, the acting director for sharia at Uganda Muslim Supreme Council, Sheikh Muhammad Ali Waiswa, has called on Muslims for forgiveness. He has asked Muslims to forget the wrongs done against them and move forward.
“As human beings, we are bound to make mistakes. This is the time to forgive each other, ask for Allah’s forgiveness and go forward,” he said in his Ramadan message
Sheikh Muhammad Galabuzi, the newly appointed Supreme Mufti of Kibuli faction, has called on Muslims to pray against increasing cases of immortality.
“I urge Muslims to use this period to strengthen their spirituality as well as praying for the increasing cases of immorality to reduce,” he said.
