Bayern set to boost

Freiburg hosts Bayern Munich at the Europa Park Stadion, in a game that is massive for both teams’ aspirations in the German top-flight for this season.

Freiburg are right in the thick of the race for the Champions League spots in the Bundesliga. In fact, Christian Streich’s team are only outside the top-four courtesy of fourth-place RB Leipzig having a superior goal difference.

The team from the Black Forest are unbeaten in their last six outings in the Bundesliga. However, a goalless draw with rock-bottom Greuther Furth last time out was their second draw in three league matches.

The game in Furth produced another low-scoring encounter for Freiburg, as five of their last eight matches in the Bundesliga have produced under 2.5 goals.

Freiburg’s recent home form has been one of the key factors in their current lofty position in the table, as they are currently six league matches unbeaten in the German top-flight, having recorded four wins in the process.

Bayern Munich looks to be on course to seal a tenth straight Bundesliga title, despite not being as formidable this season as in other title-winning campaigns.

Bayern set to boost

The Bavarians are six points clear of second-place Dortmund, who have once again struggled for the sort of consistency needed to win the German title.

Bayern are unbeaten in their last five matches in the Bundesliga, although two of those encounters have finished in draws. In their last league outing, Bayern romped to a 4-0 home win over Union Berlin.
