Intermilan to enhance scudetto hopes

Inter Milan will be looking to maintain their Serie A title defence when they welcome Jose Mourinho’s Roma to the San Siro.

As it stands, the reigning champions find themselves second in the table two points behind AC Milan and two points ahead of Napoli. Crucially, they have a game in hand their scudetto rivals.

Meanwhile, Roma occupy fifth place. Although they sit five points outside the top four, they are on course to secure Europa League football for next season.

Inter booked their place in the Coppa Italia final with a dominant 3-0 victory over arch-rivals Milan – thanks to a brace from Lautaro Martinez and a goal from Robin Gosens.

That means the Nerazzurri have won their past four games across all competitions, having dispatched Juventus, Verona and Spezia before seeing off Milan.

When you look at the bigger picture, Inter are enjoying a ten-match unbeaten streak in all competitions – having sealed six wins and four draws since their last loss.

Given that Simone Inzaghi’s side have lost just four of their last 54 Serie A encounters, Roma will likely struggle to claim all three points on Saturday.

It is worth noting, however, that Roma are enjoying a lengthy unbeaten streak of their own at the moment.

Mourinho’s men have avoided defeat in each of their previous 12 Serie A matches – securing seven wins and five draws along the way.

Thanks largely to the exploits of Tammy Abraham, who has netted 24 goals in all competitions this season, Roma have scored in all of their last nine Serie A games.

With a Europa Conference League semi-final against Leicester City to look forward to, Roma could enjoy a successful end to the season.

Head-to-head: Inter have won each of their last three games against Roma, scoring a combined total of eight goals while conceding just once.

Roma have failed to win any of their previous ten meetings with Inter across all competitions, recording six draws and four losses in the process.

Intermilan to enhance scudetto hopes

Team news: Inter have no fresh injury concerns, meaning Inzaghi should have a full-strength squad to choose from this weekend.

Roma are also injury-free at the moment. Abraham will be looking to add to his tally of 15 Serie A goals on Saturday.
