Ayieko hopes for maximum points

Makerere University Business School (MUBS) will be hoping to keep its grip on its top spot in Group B of the 2022 Pepsi University Football League when they host Arua based Muni University tomorrow Thursday in Nakawa at 3pm.

MUBS is level on nine points with Nkumba University but it’s the former that tops the group with a better goals difference and a game in hand.

On the other hand, the slim chances of Muni progressing will fade away should they fail to win against MUBS, they are bottom of the group pointless while in 3rd place is the University of Kisubi who are on 3pts.

According to MUBS coach Charles Ayiekoh, his charges will not underestimate Muni given this year’s tournament is their ultimate target and therefore should go through the group as leaders.

“We started this campaign to win the trophy and I am glad that after 3 games we have maximum points.”

“That is the mentality we are going to continue with throughout no matter who we meet, Muni is at the bottom of the table but they can pose a challenge so we should remain focused,” he added.

In the first leg, MUBS defeated Muni 3-0, and Ayiekoh wants his team to replicate such a performance once again.

Action in the Pepsi University Football League will continue through the week in different groups across the country.

From the game that was played yesterday, Akbal Ssentongo and Ivan Agambire scored in the 53″ and 90″ as Uganda Martyrs University beat Gulu University 0-2 in Gulu yesterday Tuesday in the Pepsi University Football League.
