Uganda vs Niger

The Uganda Cranes will be out for all three points when they host Niger in their second game of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers, on Wednesday.

Uganda Cranes will seek to make amends and get their 2023 AFCON Qualification campaign back on track when they host Niger at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic’s side lost 2-0 to Algeria in the opening game, leaving Cranes at the bottom of Group F.

The manner of the defeat in game one left a lot to be desired and they will hope for an immediate reaction.

Milutin Micho Sredejovic’s charges failed to get off the mark with a 2-0 away loss to Algeria on June 4 at July 5 1962 Stadium in Algiers, in a performance that has since received negative criticism from the fans.

It should be remembered that Uganda did not qualify for the AFCON finals in Cameroon (2019) and as a result, Micho returned to take over from Abdallah Mubiru.

Micho is already under pressure following the display away to Algeria and he will hope his team can silence some of the doubters with a brilliant outing at Kitende.

Niger, who are playing home games in Benin on the other hand, needed a Daniel Sosah equaliser to pick a point against Taifa Stars of Tanzania at the Stade de l’Amitié in Cotonou.

The Cranes have been boosted by the news that Fahad Bayo has been cleared to play. The Israeli based striker did not feature against Algeria due to delays in his documentation. Shaban Muhammad who got a knock last week is also fully fit to feature.

Table
1. Algeria – 3
2. Tanzania – 1
3. Niger – 1
4. Uganda – 0

Those who bet with Kagwirawo we can go with Under 2.5 from this game since Uganda rarely scores many goals and having a defensive minded coach as well.
