Police in Kisoro are hunting for unknown assailants for killing and dumping a man’s body in the nearby bush.

Locals in Shori village ,Gasiza Parish, Nyakabande sub county in Kisoro discovered the lifeless body of an unidentified man lying in a bush near Kisoro Airfield on Wednesday night.

The deceased was lying half naked without his trousers and jacket,he only had his shirt and a pair of shorts on as he lay with his body facing downwards.

The deceased had huge cuts to his head, an indication he was hit hard with a metallic object, he also had a rubber tyre ( olukoba) tied tightly around his neck.

The concerned locals immediately informed the Chairperson LC 1 Shori village 

Sebaganda Fidel, who immediately notified police, the scene was visited and examined.

Elly Maate,the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson says the body has been taken to the Kisoro hospital mortuary for postmortem.

Maate has also advised whoever is missing a relative to report to the hospital mortuary for the body.

In other news a teenage boy is nursing injuries to his legs after being knocked by a speeding car in Bwanga parish, Nyarushanje sub county, along Kebisoni Kisiizi road in Rukungiri district

The incident that was a hit and run involved a Toyota premio white in colour reg no UBC 174 A, driven by an unknown driver. 

Elly Maate,the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson says the boy identified as Ronnie Akandwanaho 16, and resident of Rwakigona cell Burora parish  was knocked off his bicycle in the afternoon.

Maate saysAkandwanaho is currently admitted at Kisiizi hospital in a critical condition and one of his legs was amputated. He says the m/v which caused the accident is still at large and its driver. 

The car was reportedly left at the washing bay by the owner for washing.
