The Police in Entebbe are holding two suspects including a step father for the murder of a 3-year-old boy in Katabi Town Council.
The suspects, both locals from Nalugala Mawugulu Zone, have been identified as Francis Onyango, the stepfather and Kasawuli
They were arrested on Wednesday night after the lifeless body of Simon Onyait was discovered in an incomplete building, in a pool of blood.
Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Area Deputy Spokesperson says the mother of the deceased, identified as Anna Kevin Akello went to work in the morning, leaving Onyait in Onyango’s hands.
He says when Okello returned later she realized the minor was missing at 6:00pm on Wednesday.
Owoyesigyire says Akello inquired from her husband on the whereabouts of her son but he failed to give a clear response. After searching neighbours’ homes in vain, Akello looked for the son with the help of locals until he was found dead in Kasawuli’s house at 7:00pm.
He says Onyait had been found with two stab wounds to his stomach while lying on blood stained clothes belonging to Kasawali.
Owoyesigyire says police in Katabi immediately arrested the two suspects to aid the police in investigations.
Locals in Katabi are now living in fear of their lives, claiming people are being murdered under unclear circumstances. On Tuesday this week, another resident of Katabi Town Council, Fred Golooba, was killed by unknown people.
