Man kills Catechists Wife

Police in Fort Portal have arrested a 25-year-old man for killing a Catechist’s wife under unclear circumstances.

The deceased Erina Kabasomi, a resident of Kigarama cell, Kasisi ward, Kiko Town Council met her untimely death over the weekend.

Her killer, Adolf Musabe Karatunga, is currently being held at Kiko Police post. Musabe reportedly hacked the deceased using a blunt object, dumped her body in a nearby bush and later informed his boss of the incident.

Musabe’s boss, retired Col. Patrick Mwesige, immediately informed officers at Kiko police post leading to the arrest of the suspect. The suspect led police to the area where he had dumped Kabasomi’s body.

According to Police, the deceased received a disturbing phone call on that fateful night and left home at about 9:30pm while her family members were having dinner.

Vincent Twesige, the Rwenzori West police spokesperson says that Kabasomi moved out to receive the call and never returned, prompting her family members to trace her whereabouts in vain until they received news of her murder.
