Details have emerged showing what exactly killed former Minister of State for Environment, Jesca Eriyo.
Eriyo, 52; also Member of Parliament and Deputy Secretary General of the East African Community, died at 7:29am on Friday 12th August 2022 at the MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas in the United States.
Until now, Eriyo’s cause of death remained a mystery.
However, according to family sources, Eriyo was undergoing cancer treatment, first diagnosed in September 2019.
Family sources note that after rounds of chemotherapy and other treatments for three months at the hospital, there were improvements, but that she developed complications.
The cancer had also advanced in stage, a family source notes.
Government is yet to release an official programme leading to her body’s repatriation and burial.
