The FUFA Drum 2022
The third edition of the FUFA Drum has reached the quarterfinals stage with the organising Committee conducting the draw to create fixture for the last eight teams.
The draw was held on Monday 29th August 2022 at FUFA House, Mengo.
Rogers Byamukama, the Chairman of the FUFA Drum Organising Committee expressed his joy about how this year’s edition has been received by the fans.
“FUFA Drum is very unkind. It gives you all sorts of surprises. As the organising committee, we are happy with the traction gained so far,” he said.
The FUFA Competitions Director, Aisha Nalule, who is also a member of the FUFA Drum Organising Committee explained the format in which the quarter-finals will be played.
“We have eight teams at this stage. It will be played on a home and away basis and the winner of each tie qualifies for the semi-finals. We urge teams to use only licensed players. The team that has scored more goals at the end of the second leg fixture, shall be the winner of the tie. If teams are tied at the end of the second-leg, the away goals rule shall apply. If teams are still tied, spot kicks shall be applied to determine the winner,” Nalule said.
FUFA Executive Committee Member Ronnie Kalema highlighted the Federation’s effort in respect to the tournament. Kalema is also the Executive Secretary of the FUFA Football Development Unit under which refereeing falls.
