Police in Njeru are hunting for unknown motorcycle robbers who attacked two people on Friday at 3:00 am, stealing their valuables.
Munginga Robert, a manager of Nile breweries and resident of Kimaka in Jinja City was with his colleague Kasaga Paul, 52 at Brewery road, Trangle zone, Njeru Municipality in Buikwe District, when they were attacked.
The duo told police at Njeru that the thugs riding on a motorcycle held a sharp panga and pistol which was used to scare them off before stealing various items.

ASP Hellen Butoto, the Sezibwa Regional Police Spokesperson says the unknown thugs managed to escape with two phones, a woofer, car keys belonging to a White Harrier registration number UAU 203F.
She says police are yet to identify the goons and motorcycle registration number used in the incident.
Meanwhile, Police in Kampala have arrested 54 suspects in areas of Katogo Zone, Bwaise, Quota zone, Nsoba Zone and Lutunda zones respectively all in Kanyanya Ward, Kawempe Division in Kampala.
The suspects were arrested during an intelligence-led operation aimed at clamping down on criminal gangs who have been terrorizing residents in Kawempe Division and Nakawa areas.
Some of the suspects include; Ssekanaba Bashir, Oketo Godfrey, Kasirye Bashir, Mwesigwa Moses, Mugume David, Bugalazio Charles, Lubega Jonathan and Matovu Owen who were found with suspected stolen property that included electronic appliances and flat-screen Television sets.

Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson says police also recovered suspected narcotic substances (Marijuana) with the suspects including; Kasule Godfrey, Ssekalu Ismail, Kauta Abudala and Ssentongo Joseph.

He says the screening process is ongoing at Kawempe Police as investigations into the allegations of illegal possession of Narcotic substances and possession of suspected stolen property continue.
Owoyesigyire says these operations will continue until “we weed out criminal elements from the Kampala Metropolitan area.”
