Locals discover dead body dumped in a trench
Police have recovered a lifeless body of an unidentified man dumped in a trench in Mukono Municipality.
The body was discovered by locals in running water which resulted from heavy rains that started early Friday morning. But others say the deceased was trying to jump a trench and instead slipped off.
The incident happened at Kavule Cell in Mukono Central Division in the roadside trench located at the Kampala-Jinja Highway-Bugerere junction.

The Officer in Charge of Homicide Department at Mukono Police Division, Christopher Oneni led the officers who visited and profiled the scene, retrieved the body before taking it to Kawolo hospital for a postmortem.
The deceased appears to be between 40 and50 years, is short, dark-skinned and was putting on a red t-shirt and a brown khaki trousers.
Daniel Ssettuuma, who owns a boutique in the Central Division, says they have been complaining about the trench for a long time but says nothing has been done by the authorities to ensure that it is covered.
He notes that it is dangerous for night travelers especially drunkards and strangers who are not familiar with the area.

Twaha Nsubuga, the councilor for Kavule in Mukono Central Division says their council agreed with Sogea Satom, the company which laid pipes for Katosi water, that they would ensure that it is fully covered since it was widened as they were laying pipes but notes that the company have never responded.
He notes that chances are high that the deceased slipped and fell into the trench.
