Sumbie vendor killed by client

Police in Iganga are looking for a man for strangling to death a 42 year old Sumbie vendor in a lodge under unclear circumstances.

The deceased identified as Aisha Kilabira was found lying dead in a room in a guest house she had rented Nkono cell, in Northern division in Iganga municipality. Workers at the guest house say the deceased was last spotted on Tuesday night with a male client going for a smashing session.

The Busoga East Police spokesperson, Diana Nandawula says police responded to a distress call on Wednesday morning from the manager of Mawanda guest house stating that a lifeless body was found in one of the rooms.

Nandawula says Kilabira was strangled by her client who later locked her up in Mawanda guest room.He says that the guest room door had been locked up from the outside with a new padlock without prior notification to the premise managers, prompting them to forcefully break-in, only to find Kilabira’s body lying on the ground.

Kilabira’s body was taken to Iganga general hospital mortuary for postmortem.
